Setting:
This book takes place in London, in the 1800’s. The main character of this book is Ebenezer Scrooge, a grumpy old man who hates Christmas. This book is told in third person, and the genre is fiction.
Plot:
It’s Christmas time in London again, and the only one not looking forward to it is old Ebenezer Scrooge. ( I’ll call him Scrooge for the rest of this review.) Scrooge hates Christmas, and every time someone wishes him a “Merry Christmas”, he responds with a “Bah!”, closely followed with a “Humbug.” But that all changes when the ghost of Jacob Marley, his old business partner appears, and warns him of the coming of three more ghosts. These ghosts are the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present, and the Ghost of Christmas Yet-to-Come. Journey with Scrooge and the Ghosts, as they look at Scrooge’s past, present, and possibly his future, to see if the old man will be changed for the better.
Recommendation:
This book is arguably, in my opinion, one of the most iconic Christmas stories ever made. It was astoundingly short, but was jam-packed with good description, amazing characters, and classic lines that most people know. So, if you are looking for a happy ending, classic Christmas story, this is one you want to read.
