Setting:

This book takes place in Alexandriville, Ohio and is told in third person. The main character is Kyle Keeley, a 12-year-old boy with a passion for games. This book takes place around modern times, and the genre is mystery.

Plot:

Kyle Keeley loves games probably more than anything else in the world. But his favorite game maker is Luigi L. Lemoncello, an eccentric billionaire who has sponsored the making of a new public library. This library will be the spot of his best game yet, a breakout. Mr. Lemoncello holds a library essay contest at the Alexandriville public school to find his contestants. Kyle and his friend Akimi are chosen, and are very excited. But this breakout is not any normal breakout game. This game will put Kyle’s library and game knowledge to the max. But Charles Chiltington, another essay winner will stop at nothing to win. Even if that means cheating. Can Kyle win the breakout game with the help of his friends?

Recommendation:

I liked the way this book kicked off the Lemoncello’s library series. It introduced the characters well, and left opportunities for building on. What I mean by that is it felt like that there should be more in the series. I love Mr. Lemoncello, because he is very funny, and he keeps making references to famous books. This book is something you should defiantly add to your reading lists. (If you have one, that is)
