Setting:
This book takes place in the magical land of Astorya, a world where the ultimate power lies in your hands. (More on that later.) I cannot figure out when this book takes place, and that does not really matter to the story. You are the main character, and the book reads like a choose-your-own-adventure books. This means it uses the pronoun you, instead of he, she, or I. The genres are fantasy and adventure.
Plot:
You wake up on a sunny beach, having no memory of your life before. Upon looking at your surroundings, you see a bottle with a note that is asking for rescue. The note is signed “Prince S.”. You wander into the woods nearby, and are sent by a talking tree to a stoat, named Manteau. This stoat is part of a group of magical beings, named Couriers, who bring stories to Astorya from Earth. Manteau asks you to help him in the rescuing of Prince S. from the evil Queen Rulette. You join up with two more of the Couriers, and off you go. But along the way, you lose these friends, and are on your own. On a desperate journey to gather the remaining Couriers, you must brave the terrain of Astorya alone, and rescue Prince S. before it is too late.
Recommendation:
I loved the story of this book, but it was hard to read. I liked the part that you were the main character, but it took a little bit to get used to that. Except for that, the book was pretty good. The characters were funny, and the bad guy was not scary or creepy in any way. So, if you are looking for a unique book to read, I recommend this one.
