This book is what I like to call the conclusion of books 1-3. It wraps up this chapter of Will’s life and ends pretty well. There is a big battle, and some blood. There is a little part of one chapter where the evil warlord is mentioned to have multiple wives and stuff like that. There is a reuniting of all your favorite characters, mine is Horace, which leads to a GREAT climax. Not that strong on the fantasy element, and more medieval type feeling.
Will and Cassandra have taken refuge in a winter cabin, supplied by Erak the Skandian. But when Cassandra is captured, and Halt and Horace are reunited with Will, they discover a deadly secret. The Temujai, a warlike race from the North, are trying their hand at invading Skandia again. But this time, it’s no small army. The entire nation is on the move! With time running out, Will, Halt, Horace, and Cassandra are forced to make an alliance with the Skandians. With the Temujai quick on the move, the battle for Skandia has begun.
