This book series is one of the best fantasy series I have every read. It currently has 7 books in this series, and a sequel series also with 7 books. The author also wrote a real-life fantasy trilogy called “Going Wild”, which was pretty good. The Unwanteds has good character devolvement, and good characters. No creepy monsters, or lots of blood.
Alex is an Unwanted. He lives in Quill, were if you show any signs of creativity, you are sent to the Lake of Boiling Oil, to be killed. So, imagine Alex’s surprise when an eccentric looking man, commonly known as Mr. Today, introduces them to the magical world of Artímé. Here, magic reins free, and creativity is encouraged. Alex and his friends soon adapt to the mystical land, and excel at their magic lessons. But all is not well, for the whole land prepares for war. And when Alex makes a fatal mistake that uncovers the hidden land of Artímé, war breaks out. As his strengths are put to the limits, will Artímé survive, or crumble at the hand of Quill?
