Setting:

This book takes place in chain of islands, but the two this book focus on are Artímé and Quill, and the Island of Shipwrecks. It is a fantasy novel, with no adventure. The two main characters of this book are Alex and Aaron Stowe, twin brothers. This book takes place after the events of the precursing book, The Unwanteds: Island of Legends.

Plot:

This book starts with Alex, and his group of statues, creatures and mages from Artimé haven fallen of a massive waterfall. This waterfall has teleported them to the other side of their chain of islands, but not in great condition. Simber, the magical stone cheetah, is forced to leave the party when Sean previous injury worsens. With him he takes Carina Holiday, Eva Fathom’s daughter. And to make matters worse, the island up ahead is surrounded by a never-ending storm. Alex and his group are soon stranded on the island, but not without company. Three old scientists live there, sheltered from the storm. The magical group of adventurers start to plan their escape, coming up with creative ways to get out of the storm. Back on the island of Artímé, an attack-gone-wrong has killed Eva Fathom, Aaron’s secretary. Carina, her daughter does not morn her because she thinks she is a traitor. But when new information comes to light, she is not sure what to believe. In Quill, Aaron makes a dangerous alliance with General Blair, the leader of the Quilltary. Aaron has created an oil making machine, and is tearing down the wall for another attack on Artímé.

Recommendation:

I recommend this book, because you won’t find a lot like it. This series has a unique feel to it, I think because of the characters. The bad guys aren’t that dark, and don’t go around killing people for the fun of it. The good guys are easy to relate to, and have you rooting for them every time. In each new book, you get new characters, some good, some bad, and some in-between.
